The Peacebuilding & Development Institute and MercyCorps are hosting a panel discussion with two delegates from The Israeli-Palestinian Negotiation Partners Network.
With Moty Cristal teaches international negotiation at the Diplomacy Studies Department at Tel Aviv University, and crisis negotiation at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzelia. He has been a leading team member in the IDF Crisis Negotiation Unit since 1998, where he has led the preparatory and operational work of the unit during the recent Gaza disengagement. From 1994 to 2001, he served in various official positions in Israeli negotiation teams with Jordan and Palestine, and has years of cross-cultural negotiations within the Israeli-Arab conflict.
And Ihab Khatib has served in various positions at the World Bank NGO project, UNICEF and UNRWA in Jerusalem. In 2006, he joined the Palestine Investment Fund and has been a leader in the creation of Investment Projects in the West Bank and Gaza. He played a major role in coordinating with the Israelis and Turks in recent preparations for the establishment of industrial estates in the West Bank. Ihab was a leading member of the task force assigned by the Palestinian Prime Minister’s Office in launching the first Palestinian Investment Conference that took place in Bethlehem in June 2008.
The discussion will focus on the current political situation in Israel and Palestine and the future of the peace processes, as seen from two perspectives.
